1 definately. You just don't have enough attribute points available to be proficient at more than one.
When I first started my warrior, I put skills in 2 (sword and hammer) just so I could get a feel for which I preferred. Once I settled on hammer, I emptied sword. I would advise trying something simliar. |

I agree that at first one should focus on a single attribute, or two at the most. There just aren't enough attribute points available until one reaches lvl 12 or higher to be really effective in more than one attribute at a time. However, as one begins to get more points, along with armor/runes that add attribute modifiers, they can begin to diversify into three of more attributes.
Here's a good chart, that though somewhat inaccurate regarding how quickly one gets their points (guess that was changed after the guide was written), it still illustrates where one can head with their character's attribute distribution... http://www.guildwarsguru.com/content...tion-id270.php Personally, I like the 11/10/10 and 10/10/10/5 builds with any character. But one doesn't begin to get close to these until after lvl 18 however. |

And btw... we get one Attribute Refund Point for every 250 exp. points gained. Which means it's really easy to switch attributes around, either to test out different setups or distributions of points, or to simply switch between attributes as an effective strategy. I focus on Axe Mastery and Strength, and switch between Curses and Death Magic depending on the party or situation I'm in.
A good example is for one with a monk secondary to switch between healing and smiting prayers depending on if the group needs a secondary healer or is getting ready to face the undead. Just an fyi... |
